Breast revision surgery involves removal or replacement of breast implants. It is to fix or enhance primary breast augmentation.

Preparing for breast revision surgery:

 

  • Get lab testing or a medical evaluation

  • Take certain medications or adjust your current medications

  • Get a baseline mammogram before surgery and another one after surgery to help detect any future changes in your breast tissue

  • Stop smoking

  • Avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs and herbal supplements as they can increase bleeding

Post procedure care

You will be encouraged to move around and get out of bed the day after surgery as this will help promote healing. You must be careful to avoid heavy lifting and anything that is going to stretch you too far – this includes vigorous exercise, for 6 weeks.

 

Possible discomfort

Soreness and tenderness are to be expected for several days after your breast revision surgery, but many people return to work in a week.
